Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Ali Simpson, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
Starting counseling can feel like a big step, and it’s natural to feel a bit uncertain. My role is to provide a safe and supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow. Take your time exploring my website to see if working together feels like the right fit.
Counseling Services
Individual Counseling
I offer individual counseling sessions to ages 13 and up. I utilize dialectic behavior therapy and a cognitive behavioral therapy centered approach. Individual therapy lasts 55 minutes. Sessions are focused on your specific concerns, symptoms, or stressors. Sessions can be paid by private pay or insurance.
I accept Wellmark / Blue Cross Blue Shield. Please check with insurance coverage to find out of pocket costs such as co-pays, co-insurances, and deductibles you may be responsible for.
I offer a private pay rate of $175 per session. This can be paid by credit card, debit card, HSA/FSA, savings, or checking account. The first scheduled appointment is charged at the rate of $190 for a Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation. Upon services you will receive information about the Good Faith Estimates / No Surprise Act. This act helps to estimate the private pay cost of psychotherapy.
Ali Simpson, LMHC
Throughout my career, I’ve developed a special interest in supporting teens, young adults, and individuals navigating adversity. I have extensive experience working with clients ages 13+ who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, racial trauma, stress, family conflict, gender and sexuality concerns (LGBTQIA+), and challenges related to being part of the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my loved ones. You can often find me trying to keep up with my toddler, being outdoors, enjoying time with my dogs, reading, or listening to music too loud while driving. I care deeply about humanity and social justice, and I occasionally serve as an adjunct professor at a local community college.
I was drawn to the counseling field early in life and have always been passionate about mental health and personal growth. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Northern Iowa and have professional experience in social work, school-based therapy, college counseling centers, and community mental health agencies.
